Trial Information

New for October 2010:

  • Mixed-Breed dogs are invited to enter. Purebred and mixed-breed dogs compete all together in each trial class
  • Beginner Novice optional titling A & B classes have been added

Obedience regular classes, optional titling classes and non-regular classes; Rally; Friday Night Match

Our club offers rosettes for first through fourth placements, prizes in regular classes for all placement qualifiers, all non placing qualifiers, and a beautiful ‘New Title’ rosette. Even non-qualifiers get a prize.

STEWARDS – we need your help! Free match time and free lunch for every Steward who works at least 1/2 day.

Limitation of Entries
All classes are limited by 8 hours per judge each day. Entries will be accepted in the order received, subject to the following:

  • All regular class entries have first priority, and will be accepted up to the limits for the assigned judge.
  • Optional titling classes have second priority, and will be conditionally accepted as received. After closing, and processing of regular class entries, these entries will be accepted up to the limits for the assigned judge.
  • Non-regular class entries have third priority, and will be conditionally accepted as received. After closing, and processing of regular and optional titling class entries, a judge will be assigned and these entries will be accepted up to the limits for that judge.

We expect to be able to accept approximately the following number of entries:

Obedience Regular Classes:

  • Novice A & B combined:  45 entries
  • Open A & B combined:  64 entries
  • Utility A & B combined: 56 entries

Rally Regular Classes – all 6 classes combined: 66 entries

  • Rally Novice A & B
  • Rally Advanced A & B
  • Rally Excellent A & B

All other classes will be limited by judging time available per the 8-hour daily limit:

  • Beginner Novice A & B (NEW !)
  • Graduate Novice
  • Graduate Open
  • Versatility

Obedience Non-Regular Classes:

  • Pre-Novice
  • Veterans

Fees:

  • Obedience regular and optional titling classes (except Novice A): $25 first entry / $20 additional entries for the same dog
  • Special Price for Obedience Novice A: $10
  • Rally: $25 first entry / $20 additional entries for the same dog
  • Pre-Novice: $10 per entry
  • Veterans: $20 per entry
  • Wild Card: $20 per entry
  • Brace: $10 per dog
  • Team: $5 per dog

Friday Night Plan OC Match ring time from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM

  • $5 for 5 minutes of Novice or Open ring time; $10 for 10 minutes of Utility ring time
  • Dog must be entered in the trial on Saturday or Sunday (any class)
  • Novice and Open rings include group sits and downs
  • High Jump Height is required. Ring time will be assigned by armband number, in descending jump height order.
  • Enter the match in advance with your trial entry. Don’t delay – the match usually fills up!
  • DOCG Members will conduct the match, and do their own run-thru’s separately before the start of the match.
  • Pizza available for purchase at the match

Catalog:

  • Preorder with your entry for $2 each
  • Only a limited number of catalogs will be available for sale ($3 each) at the trial

Lunch will be available for purchase by pre-order both days:

  • Saturday: A real taste of Southern Hospitality! Chefs Barb and Marty are pleased to offer you a choice of grilled barbecued chicken or hand-pulled pork, home-smoked over hickory and apple wood. Served with an array of great side dishes! Preorder, $8 per lunch.
  • Sunday: Sandwiches from Honeybaked Ham. Preorder, $7.00 each including chips and a drink.

Directions to the Simpsonville Activity & Senior Center:

  • from Columbia / Laurens: I-385 North to exit 27 (Fairview Road). At the end of the ramp, at stop light, continue straight onto South Street. Pass Bi-Lo (the road forks, continue straight) Go approximately one mile to stop sign, turn left onto West Curtis Street. The Simpsonville Senior Center will be directly on your right.
  • from Greenville / Spartanburg / Atlanta / Charlotte: Take I-85 to I-385 South to exit 31 (Highway 417). At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Highway 417 toward Simpsonville. Go approximately 2.5 miles, turn right onto West Curtis Street (by brick clock tower), cross RR tracks. The Simpsonville Senior Center will be about 1/4 mile on your right.
