This Saturday, May 1st, DOCG is offering a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Certification test. Pat Brausch, a certified evaluator, will conduct and score the tests.
If you would like to help, or, if you would like to have your dog tested, please contact Pat Brausch ASAP.
Email: patbrausch@gmail.com, or phone # 828-894-5898.
Date: Saturday, May 1, 2010
Location: Dog Trainers Workshop, Fountain Inn, SC
Set up: 8:00 am for volunteers to receive instructions
Test Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Space is limited! Dogs are evaluated one at a time.
The DOCG fee for each dog being evaluated will be $10.00 (pass or fail). The owner will be responsible for sending their form to the AKC and paying the AKC fee of $5 to receive a CGC certificate.
New dog owners can work toward a Canine Good Citizen Certification as the first step in training their dogs. Also, having a CGC on your dog can potentially save you money! There are some hotels that will waive pet fees if you present evidence of CGC certification.
For further information about CGC tests, please visit the AKC website at www.akc.org.
Helpers are also needed. We need about 5 people to assist with the test (helping people fill out their paperwork, acting as a crowd to distract the dog, etc.)
This is a great way to serve the community and introduce our club to dog owners new to obedience and raise funds for our club.
